Danielo Perez of Austin
An experienced forensic pathologist, Dr. Danielo Perez most recently served with Central Texas Autopsy in Lockhart. There, he conducted medical examinations for private clients and counties alike throughout Central Texas. To gather information surrounding mysterious or unattended deaths, Dr. Danielo Perez provided death examinations and comprehensive analyses of toxicological reports, blood tests, medical imaging, and death scene reconstructions.
Dr. Danielo Perez accepted this role in the summer of 2012, having previously performed similar duties as an assistant medical examiner for the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office in Chicago. Also responsible for providing court testimony, as he went on to do in Texas, he attended death locations and responded to case acquisition inquiries. Dr. Perez effectively balanced these duties with mentorship of pathology fellows and the instruction of pathology assistant students learning to perform autopsies.
Dr. Danielo Perez completed his own forensic pathology fellowship with the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office in San Antonio, having previously served as an anatomic and clinical pathology resident at Stony Brook University Medical Center in New York. There, he distinguished himself as the chief resident of the class of 2010. In addition to an MD from the SUNY Downstate College of Medicine, he holds a graduate degree in forensic science from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
